Exhibited at DESIGN MIAMI. 2023 Aman Interiors presents the Migumi Table with Kengo Kuma. A seamless extension of Kuma’s design of Aman Miami Beach Residences, the Migumi Table has been designed to capture the essence and interplay of sunlight and wood which Kuma witness in Miami. Kuma focused on the potential of traditional craftsmanship by experimenting with small wooden structures, creating layers of complexity which translate to a larger scale to create an elegant, contemporary, and experimental art piece. Blending Japanese making traditions and a contemporary, experimental approach, Migumi is made by expert craftsmen in Higashikawa, and intended as a daily reminder of our deep connections to our environment. The limited edition Migumi Table is made from a concealed steel structure, six-layered veneered oak and Calacatta marble.
