Counterpart's materials - coal and resin - merge in Counterpart II. The unification of two distinctive materials creates an intimate juxtaposition of opposites; dark-light, absorbing-refracting, dull-bright, textured-smooth in a single linear element. The close proximity of materials highlights the transformative power of carbon's molecular structure from graphite (coal) to diamond (resin).
