Exhibited at DESIGN MIAMI. 2023 A duo of screens is the result of our second collaboration with the embroiderer Jean-François Lesage, founder of Lesage Intérieurs and his partner workshop in Chennai: Vastrakala. Across these two unique pieces imagined by Florence Louisy, a line embroidered with natural and precious materials follows the remarkable design of the illustrator Boris Brucher, commissioned for this occasion. The embroidery interpretation of these bodies in fusion, which are Boris' signature, testifies to the sensitivity, style and history of Jean-François Lesage between India and France for over twenty years. As we approach, our eye is instantly drawn to this meticulously crafted line, intertwining crystals, bone and coral beads, gold and silver threads, all worn on jute and cotton cords. Embroidered on burnished and waxed linen, the shimmering line is suspended in brushed metal frames, creating a stunning contrast. These two unique pieces are true masterpieces, celebrating India's expertise in contemporary embroidery, and its historical ease in navigating away from codes, consistently demonstrating remarkable dexterity. Material: Stainless Steel, Embroidered Linen
