Description/
Elisa Stroz yk ’s signature work is her Wooden Tex tile S eries, comprising hybrid
materials made of wood veneer and fabric. Small wooden tiles are hand
positioned on a flexible base, combining the traditional technique of marquetr y
with innovative tex tile design. The results can transform from a flat sur face to
a sculptural 3D form. This wooden tex tile design is handmade in black poplar
veneer and viscose.

Based in Berlin, Strozyk studied Textile & Surface Design at KHB in Berlin and completed the MA course Future Textiles at Central Saint Martins in London. Her work blurs the boundaries between 2D and 3D, hard and soft, textiles and furniture. She regularly collaborates with different artists, designers, and companies. In 2010, she received the German Design Award from the German Design Council and the German Ministry of Economics. Her work has been shown at Design Miami/ and Victoria & Albert Museum.
