Description/
A loveseat composed of U-turns and L turns of a soft cylinder. The foam is rigid and structural, yet cushioned and soft; a curvy, sensual take on playful soft sculpture. It is surfaced in one-piece custom wool and silk fabric created specifically to the form. The curves are constructed into the fabric itself.
Ara Thorose
designer
Ara Thorose is an Armenian American designer from Los Angeles, currently based in New York. In 2015 he received an MFA in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. As an undergraduate at the University of California, Irvine, he studied Sociology with a focus on gender and sexuality.
Garnering critical acclaim after debuting at Architectural Digest Design Show in 2017, his innovative form language set a trend for bending cylindrical forms in design. His work continues to be featured in trend forecasts for form, mood, and color.
