The Wallflower series was born out of the stress, confusion, and darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic. Quarantined in my tiny NYC apartment, Tom was left to daydream about a world of color, happiness, and comfort.Drawing flowers had been my safe space for years, so it was only natural for Tom to create this series during this time. Each wallflower is one of a kind, hand tufted object d’art.

Tom Lerental is a Textile Designer and the founder of Tomma Bloom, Surface Design studio based out of Boston, MA. Her inspiration and creative practice are driven by an exploration of material culture and the way it translates into contemporary aesthetics. Using the tools of her trade - pattern, structure, form, and color, Tom rephrases textile design methods into surface and objects. Tom gained her Bachelor of Design in Textile (Cum Laude) from Shenkar College and her Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from Tel-Aviv University.
