The Teca wall cabinet is a precious container, much like a treasure chest. Its mirrored door distorts the space in the disorder of an irregular octagon, while a thick, zigzag line of olive burl divides the mirror in two parts.
We find this precious material again when we open the cabinet’s door: the reverse side of the door and the outer side panels of the container are also veneered in olive burl. Internally, however, the cabinet is covered in dichroic glass.
Made in Italy by Italian master cabinetmakers, this object is a discovery of the past with the sophistication of the olive burl that covers the entire interior of the door and offers a glimpse into what is to come with the changing effects of its dichroic glass lining.
The inspiration for this piece is oriented towards the world of contemporary art and architecture and the dynamism of geometric shapes.
