Description/
Here is a stoneware piece from the Species series, the result of the beautiful collaboration between Morgane Tschiember and John M. Armleder, so significant of their respective works with the ropes of Morgane’s shibaris and the drips of the iconic series of paintings of the close friend of the Fluxus movement and founder of the Ecart collective.
This series of ceramic works was produced at Cercco, the Centre for Experimentation and Realisation in Contemporary Ceramics at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD), from a selection of moulds, dating from the 19th century to the present day. “It is in pairs that these pieces are presented to us and that they were produced using the technique of stamping with a mould. The casts were fired in pairs and the ties that attached them to each other disintegrated during the firing process, leaving curious traces. Quote from Marjolaine Lévy.
