Ding Yi

Contemporary artist Ding Yi has been focusing on researching and discovering furniture and artwork in the Art Deco style (“Arts Décoratifs”) of 1920s and 1930s Shanghai. Founded by Ding Yi in 2005 in the Shanghai M50 contemporary art district, Aotuku Furniture Gallery has spent years collecting and cataloguing Shanghai Art Deco furniture. Its furniture has been widely collected by the Shanghai History Museum as well as domestic and foreign collectors. Aotuku Furniture Gallery has made an important contribution to protecting the history of Shanghai's design art. By inheriting and expanding the style of Shanghai Art Deco, Aotuku Furniture Gallery has helped popularize the Art Deco style both domestically and abroad.
