Description/
This coffee pot is a reinterpretation of a coffee pot from the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam NL). The view of this pre- industrial object transforms by questioning it from the context of the ornament. The ornament is often a forgotten language while it has a long history that goes far beyond than just a decorative layer. It is for me a form of communication, a guide in functionality, a manner of production and an indication of the origin. The ornament of the object is revealed trough a dynamic design process of stacking, cutting, stitching, flattening, and folding existing images and shapes. With these simple methods I transform the existing shape to let it develop further.
Usable as coffeepot / teapot. Dry well after use. Edition of 100
