Console in Rosewood veneer and polished brass
H 90 W 180 D 33 cm

Limited edition 20 pieces

A tribute to Carlos Scarpa, the Overhung console is inspired by the details of one of the Italian architect’s masterpieces, La Tomba Brion. A play of corbelled volumes reinforced by the reversed direction of the rosewood veneers creates an impression of unstable balance, of a cantilever.

Hervé Langlais

is a graduate of the Normandy School of Architecture in Rouen. He collaborated with Paul Andreu for over fifteen years, working on the National Grand Theater of China in Beijing and the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai. In parallel to his work with Andreu, Langlais’ personal projects led him to design interiors for private homes. While designing for a number of studios, Langlais founded his own design studio in 2006, loyal to his guiding principles of combining precision and purity of design with high quality materials. Since 2012, he has been working in close collaboration with Sophie Negropontes, designing a yearly collection of luminaires and furniture. Langlais has also created Galerie Negropontes’ unique stands for trade fairs in France and abroad. Hervé Langlais’ creations are in keeping with the French Decorative Arts, renewing a tradition of excellence in which luxury and modernity come together.
