Pendant fixture covered in various vintage Japanese kimono silks. Silks include “iromuji” style – solid color and considered a semi-formal kimono appropriate for occasions like tea ceremony. Includes a panel showing a family crest denoting the semi-formal status. The self-pattern on the fabric is called “rinzu”, which in English is known as jacquard. Also included is tsumugi men’s kimono silk. Tsumugi silk is made from silk cocoons that have broken threads resulting in shorter fibers that create its unique slubby texture.
