Description/
I created the Halo collection so I could offer people something unique, while also being familiar. My career started when I began sculpting cotton paper by hand, and for this collection of lighting pieces, it seemed it would be appropriate to revisit this material. The name halo is referencing the ethereal glow of enlightenment and joy. Each piece is sculpted by hand, in the round, where I find myself dancing with each sheet as I build it; one fold and pleat inform the next and on and on culminating in a duality of light and shadow, creased and smooth, my desires, and the paper’s capacity to be. Each lantern is my own exploration of balance; the corrugated pleats, and soft rolling folds oppose and harmonize with the light emanating from within.
