Description/
Inspired by nature and the human form, Markus Haase’s Sculptural Series Sconces and Chandeliers are composed of bronze or wood asymmetrical butterfly forms. Each hand-carved form is embedded with white onyx, encasing dimmable LED lights, offering a warm, perennial glow as the LEDs emit light softly through the stone. Combining a mastery of traditional sculpting techniques with a contemporary, material-driven approach to design, Haase is one of the only artists working today, crafting unique works in bronze. Rather than using the casting process as a mechanism for producing multiples, each of his bronze and onyx light sculptures is completely one-of-a-kind.
