Marc Ricourt MR069
Marc Ricourt sources wood locally which he turns on a lathe whilst green. He then intricately carves and treats the surface of the unique object, drawing inspiration from ancient utilitarian vessels as well as natural forms such as seedpods or the undulating edges of leaves. Ricourt lives and works near Dijon, France. Shortlisted this year for the Loewe Craft Prize, he has exhibited extensively worldwide and is featured in significant private and public collections, including Musée des Pays de L’’Ain, France; Wood Turning Centre, Lewes, UK; The Center for Art in Wood, Philadelphia and ASU Art Museum, Tempe, USA.
