Latest from the Modern Ancestors series are one-off sculptural vessels a cobalt blue lava glaze, which reveals golds spots where the bubbles open to reveal the clay body underneath. The forms were inspired from a visual vocabulary developed from using Le Corbusier’s Modulor grid. Each piece is handmade on the wheel before assembling handles cut out of clay slabs. All of the pieces are handmade, glazed, and fired by Maia Beyrouti in her studio in Berlin, Germany.
