Description/
Pre war tube radios were inexpensive single body early pressed plastics. War time rationing of plastics necessitated the need for new material technologies and opened a brief window that resulted in the creation of hundreds of thousands of molded plywood radio casings. With the end of rationing, manufacturers quickly returned to inexpensive pressed plastics on the way to the transistor based set of the 1950’s.
