Description/
Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek jewelry, Laurel Blossom pairs oval leaves with a delicate branching frame to convey new growth springing forth. Each hammered brass leaf is formed by hand and set closely around oblong glass buds, capturing the surrounding glow.
Rosie Li
designer
"Rosie Li is a Chinese American designer focusing on sculptural lighting. Lifelong interests of drawing and sculpture led her to attend Rhode Island School of Design, where Li graduated in 2011 with a BFA in Furniture Design. Shortly after graduating, she launched her design career by partnering with Roll & Hill to produce 'Stella' – a series of Op Art-inspired mirror sconces.
Li’s on-going series explore underlying links between nature, mathematics and geometry. Expressed through simple geometric modules, her lighting works seek to quantify natural phenomena by combining and recombining repeated organic forms.
Rosie Li Studio is a New York-based lighting atelier founded in 2015 by designer Rosie Li and engineer Philip Watkins. The duo forgoes traditional lamp design for building systems driven by science and mathematics, constructing fixtures using modular parts with a focus on pared-down, adaptable forms. This adaptability allows their light fixtures to achieve a sculptural quality by consciously responding to their environments and integrating with the surrounding space."
