Somewhere between the unseen and the rediscovered, Cibelli’s objects refer to the domestic environment during the pandemic period. Objects of everyday use are transformed, revised, and reused to become something new; whether a sculpture or a memory, these pieces take on the responsibility of telling a story.
The Galleria Antonella Villanova, founded in 2008 in Florence, promotes the work of internationally- known jewelry artists who offer a new aesthetic and conceptual interpretation of the ornament, innovating the technical quality of traditional jewelry through the use of often-ancient practices, with materials and forms in line with contemporary moods, although clearly part of the long history of jewelry making. Over the years, the Gallery has always complemented exhibitions and the promotion of contemporary jewelry with small projects linked to design and contemporary art, with the intention of creating a place where various disciplines can dialogue with one another. Jewelry by artists the gallery represents is present in modern art, contemporary art and design museum collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Pinakotheke der Moderne in Munich, the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as in the most important private European and American collections.
