Bolotas Armchair (Amarelo)

$48,000.00

Description/

At Design Miami/, 2021, Friedman Benda will launch a new iteration of the Campana Brothers’ iconic Bolotas collection; vibrant Amarelo. Introduced during the Campana brothers’ 2015 exhibition, Artisanal, at the gallery, the Bolotas collection was initially inspired by stone walls. The name came from the first prototype produced, that instead appeared soft and round, like an acorn (‘bolotas’ in Portuguese). Made from sheepskin volumes, Bolotas provides total enveloping comfort.
Fernando (born 1961) and Humberto (born 1953), part of the canon of design history from the past 35 years, are included in the permanent collection of dozens of museums, including: Art Institute of Chicago, IL; Carnegie Museums of Art, Pittsburgh; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris; Museum of Arts and Design, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California; The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Philadelphia Museum of Modern Art, Pennsylvania; Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany.
