Description/
Bari Ziperstein developed the glaze for this piece based on research into the historical use of Mint and Jade greens in traditional Chinese ceramics. Referencing both the symbolic importance of Jade (as observed by Confucius) and the chemical composition of the color in use (a commentary on the geo-political history of resource availability and distribution), this piece demonstrates how a simple color can contain a complex history and depth of meaning.
