Description/
Through the twisting forms of his functional sculptures, Australian designer Charles Trevelyan asks a fundamental question: why is the natural world considered beautiful, when it is so irregular?
The elongated, root-like legs of Between the Lines diverge in unexpected ways, celebrating their own unintuitive beauty, and are spotlit by the lamp’s own illumination.
Trevelyan crafts his work with same deviations and random occurrences that proliferate in nature, resulting in complex organisms.

"Charles Trevelyan was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1974 and has lived and worked in London since 2000. His functional sculptures evoke the beauty of a natural world full of irregularity. His collections of tables, lamps, screens and desks feature distinctive, elongated legs that interlace to support each piece.
Trevelyan’s bespoke works are hand finished in unique patinas, which evoke the imperfections found in nature. His investigative process is ongoing, as he continues to develop new and unexpected forms suited to specific interiors. Mostly he works with bronze, but also incorporates marble and wood into
his practice.
