Each piece is a hand-made silver locket, fashioned in the cartoonish style of Aaron Decker’s “Lil’ Bomb” character. The board is silver as well, partially patinated and lacquered, set in a garnet-sand coated wooden box which opens to store the pieces. The queen is the power player, in pumps and a spiked brassier, while the king in contrast is short and squat, their pawns are the babies that get sent to fight on the front lines.
