The ‘Africa’ are part of a wider collection ‘Artona’ designed for Maxalto by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in the 1950s. Distinguishable by its organic shape, the ‘Africa’ chair combines wood and leather as a rebellion against the prevailing use of plastics in design during the preceding period.
