Description/
The Beomjong is a miniature chime bell that encapsulates both the science of sound and the art of beautiful design and form, allowing the heart to open in its grandeur. Bells play a crucial role in a variety of Buddhist services and rituals; their sound is considered auspicious, and is believed to bring peace and comfort to all sentient beings. This piece was crafted from a single flat sheet of iron and is manufactured by a metal spinning master in Korea. Korean bells are distinguished by the fact that unlike western bells, they are meant to ring on the exterior using human force. To underline this in an interactive approach, the Beomjong has a pulley, so that when the user pulls the string, the outside structure rings the bell by hitting on the bell’s exterior surface.
<When the tiger used to smoke> collection implies the idea of long-term sustainability by working with masters of each field who deserves much more recognition, and incorporating modern furniture design with our traditional culture to make it more approachable.
