Description/
Inspired by the infinite depth of the universe, the Danish artist Astrid Krogh created the mesmerizing light sculpture, Illimited (2019) from delicate optic fibers infused with changing light, protruding from a midnight blue box. Different light constellations appear and disappear in a slow pace, making the little square of the universe seem to “breathe” like a starry sky.
Astrid Krogh’s vocabulary is nuanced by sensory experiences, which are articulated through a lexicon of color and light. Widely regarded as one of Scandinavia’s most renowned artists in the field of light installations and textile art, Krogh works at the intersection of art, architecture and design. She has created monumental light installations and special commissions for numerous private and public collections, including the 21C Museum International Contemporary Art Foundation in Cincinnati, and Longchamp’s flagship store on the Champs Elysées in Paris.
