Chaise longue was designed by Arne Vodder for Bovirke in the 1950s. This chaise lounge has an open frame in beech wood and a seating created of braided leather straps. The flowing shape of the frame, together with the pure combination of leather and wood creates a natural character. The frame rests on tapered legs and due to the openness, a design that is all about shape and angles is created. The highly patinated leather truly stands out and adds unique value to the chaise longue.

Arne Vodder (1926-2009) was one of the most influential Scandinavian midcentury designers. Once an architecture student of famous furniture designer Finn Juhl at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Arne Vodder opened his own studio together with Anton Borg in 1950. Vodder collaborated with different furniture makers such as Fritz Hansen and Bovirke.
