“Drawing inspiration from the saturated color palette of Miami’s art deco villas, Hervé Langlais’ designs come in a duo of blues, overseas and lagoon.
In an effect of contrasting colors and shapes, the Arche console table opposes a sharp exterior structure in ultramarine blue to the interior softness and roundness of a lagoon blue.”
Hervé Langlais
designer
is a graduate of the Normandy School of Architecture in Rouen. He collaborated with Paul Andreu for over fifteen years, working on the National Grand Theater of China in Beijing and the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai. In parallel to his work with Andreu, Langlais’ personal projects led him to design interiors for private homes. While designing for a number of studios, Langlais founded his own design studio in 2006, loyal to his guiding principles of combining precision and purity of design with high quality materials. Since 2012, he has been working in close collaboration with Sophie Negropontes, designing a yearly collection of luminaires and furniture. Langlais has also created Galerie Negropontes’ unique stands for trade fairs in France and abroad. Hervé Langlais’ creations are in keeping with the French Decorative Arts, renewing a tradition of excellence in which luxury and modernity come together.
