“Accordi”, a series of blown glass vases made using the complex glass working technique called “doppio incalmo”, is based on the study and application of color theory.

A chromatic chord is the juxtaposition of several colors according to their objective relationships and is a fundamental principle of chromatic composition, which allows enhancing their strength or weakness, harmony, or disharmony.

These glass vases are mouth-blown and hand-crafted in a furnace in the foothills of the Bernese Alps, Switzerland. Being handmade, each piece is unique.

This custom-made-to-order piece will be created in the designer’s studio once the purchase is complete. Due to its bespoke nature, a Design Miami/ client services representative will be in touch with the estimated production time and expected ship date.

Laura Sattin (1989) is an Italian architect and glass designer. Born and raised in Vicenza, Italy, she now lives in Basel, Switzerland. Since 2015, in parallel with her career as an architect, she dedicates herself to the study of glass working techniques and the creation of blown glass objects. Her works, characterized by a careful combination of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetic, have been shown in several solo and group exhibitions across Europe and Japan.
