Modernity is a leading gallery offering exceptional vintage twentieth century design that includes furniture, lighting, ceramics and glass.
The gallery focuses on vintage Scandinavian design by Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl, Alvar Aalto, Bruno Mathsson, Arne Jacobsen, Axel Salto, Berndt Friberg, Tapio Wirkkala and Timo Sarpaneva, among others. Modernity also represents and highlights work by contemporary designers such as Michael Young, Stefan Lindfors, Mårten Medbo and Sandra Davolio.
Andrew Duncanson opened Modernity in 1998 in Stockholm to present exceptional international design in exciting surroundings. The gallery is located in the heart of the design district.
Modernity is a member of the Swedish Art and Antique Dealers Association and is a member of the international antique dealers association CINOA, and exhibits regularly at antique and design shows in Stockholm, Paris and New York.
In addition to its exhibition program, Andrew Duncanson holds regular design lectures in the gallery for schools, companies, journalists and private collectors. He has also been a member of the deciding jury for the Swedish Design Association’s annual exhibitions at the museum of Architecture, Stockholm.
